Greetings fellow mariners, I've had a great week, hope you have too.

Here is my question of the week.

Following on from last weeks question. This question came about after a bit of a debate onboard about COLREGS, needless to say that between them, they didn’t agree with each other. Let’s see what you think.

As you alter course to Stbd, it takes you closer to shore, you are happy the depth is more than enough to move towards the shore as close as 100m. There is an inlet ahead of you that leads to a marina and upon a closer look you see a Gig coming out with 7 PoB, it is on your Stb side at around green 20º at the moment but you are still in your turn to avoid the other cruiser, by the time you have finished your turn to avoid the other cruiser it is around 100m away just off your Port bow, you are now around 20 degrees on its Stbd bow and its getting awfully close.

What are you going to do and what are the IRPCS rules that apply to vessels under oars?

Write down what you are going to do and what rules apply before you check.
