This weeks question is about something that is more common in the summer months, that said, if you are berthed in a busy marina you may experience it during the calm warmer weekends as owners visit their boats or do cruise in company events.

The question -

You are visiting a new harbour and your check in with the harbourmaster a few minutes ago confirmed you are expected. The harbourmaster has confirmed your berth allocation for the duration of the stay and advised you that because of an event, the harbour is unusually crowded and manoeuvring space is limited. As a Day Skipper, what strategies and techniques should you employ to safely navigate through the harbour and avoid collisions with other vessels?

An innocent question on the face of it but I am looking for a list of all the things you would do (I have a list of more than 8 points).

Enjoy!  My thoughts next week.
