During the course of a discussion on distance the following questions were posed.
You drove here this morning, how many miles was it from home to here?
How long is a mile (since all the students were relatively young, they were asked for it in meters).
They were then asked how long a Chinese mile is in meters.
Then they were asked how long a Scandinavian mile is also in meters.
To compound it a little more, they were asked how long a Nautical mile is again in meters. Then they were asked if they knew the distance definition of a nautical mile.
Round the table, the answers were varied and vastly different. Your task this week is to write down the answers to all the questions above (except the one from home to here!). Bear in mind we are UK based.
(try not to google it till you have written down your answers!!)
