Greetings fellow mariners. Back in October I wrote an article about owning a boat verses being in a boat club. Since then, I have had many emails thanking me for such a detailed piece on the pros and cons.
Yesterday, I received an email from a company I know well having done my advanced powerboat course and CoC exam with them. They have since developed another arm to their very successful company offering another option, Boatshare, Link to their website Here

The location is just a 35-minute drive from Glasgow Airport, making it an easily accessible gateway to an unforgettable maritime adventure. I’ve never had a bad day at sea in this area—it’s the perfect starting point for a cruise around the stunning Scottish islands. For those seeking a true voyage, you can navigate through the scenic Crinan Canal to Oban, continue to Fort William, and, if time allows, journey all the way to Inverness.
If you prefer a more relaxed excursion, a visit to the charming town of Inveraray is highly recommended. And for whisky enthusiasts, there’s no better way to travel than by boat—Campbeltown is a fantastic destination for a whisky tour.
Whatever route you choose, one thing is certain: you’re in for an incredible experience.
To give you an idea of the waters around Largs here is a video of our advanced course.
Hope this helps you with your decision making, enjoy your boating and keep safe.
